Atelier technique métal : Bronze

Atelier technique, métal. L'objectif étant d'appréhender les techniques de la sculpture en bronze. A partir d'un modèle vivant, nous avons modelé un fragment en terre, puis recouvert de cire. La terre donne la volumétrie, la cire, la texture. La figure est coupée en deux, on en extrait la terre, et elle est recomposé. De nombreuses étapes se succèdent jusqu'au résultat final : alcool, bain de céramique, renforcement par fibre de verre, coulée, etc. L'intérêt de cette technique est la proximité plastique qui existe, entre la texture de la cire, et celle que prend le bronze. Sachant que l'improvisation n'est pas permise, après le premier bain de céramique.

Une fois la sculpture coulée, il faut ensuite extraire les résidus à la main, ou avec un souffleuse de sable.

Studio of metal. The goal is learning the techniques of the bronze sculpture. From a model, we modelled a fragment in earth, then covered with wax. The earth gives the volume, the wax, the texture. The figure is cut in two, we extract the earth from it, and it is recomposed. Numerous stages succeed one another until the final result: alcohol, bath of ceramic, intensification by fiberglass, etc. The interest of this technique is the plastic nearness which exists, between the texture of the wax, and the final result in bronze. Knowing that the improvisation is not allowed, after the first bath of ceramic.
Once the sculpture was poured, it is then necessary to extract residues in the hand, or with one blower of sand.
